Pre-Procedure Guidelines for Aesthetic Physicians

Successful outcomes with Biovera products start long before the first injection. A thorough pre-procedure protocol protects both the patient and the physician, while maximizing the therapeutic benefit.

Patient Assessment

  • Comprehensive medical history, including allergies and current medications
  • Review of previous aesthetic treatments and outcomes
  • Skin analysis under standardized lighting
  • Clear identification of the patient's primary concern and treatment goals
  • Realistic expectation setting with the patient

Contraindications to Screen

  • Active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area
  • Known hypersensitivity to any component of the product
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Autoimmune conditions affecting the skin
  • Recent use of certain medications (to be evaluated by the physician)

Pre-Treatment Preparation

  • Stop retinoids 5–7 days before treatment (if applicable)
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications as advised by the physician
  • No alcohol 24 hours before the procedure
  • Ensure the patient is well-hydrated
  • Take pre-procedure photographs for documentation

Documentation

Biovera products are supplied with self-adhesive labels with batch numbers for treatment documentation. Saudi clinics should maintain complete records in line with SFDA requirements and SCFHS professional standards.

On the Day

  • Confirm the patient identity and the product batch
  • Disinfect the treatment area thoroughly
  • Use the recommended needles for each technique (30G ½", 30G 13mm, 27G 4mm)
  • Inject slowly and according to the approved protocol
